We met while Lauren was doing a clinical rotation at Manatee Memorial Hospital. She kept seeing this very cute tech throughout the ER and could have sworn she had met him before and she needed to talk to him. Well one day she was pushing a patient in a stretcher to the radiology department when she "accidentally" ran the patient in the stretcher into the nurse's station where James was working. He got out of his chair to joke with her and explain how to drive a stretcher. After that shift, we met outside and talked for James' entire lunch break, and the rest is history.

We decided to do our first date with a few of Lauren's friends just to break the ice, so we went bowling! We had so much fun and bringing the friends along actually worked because we were able to talk and get to know each other more. Then we grabbed a late dinner at Daiquiri Deck on Siesta Key. After dinner we decided to go to Siesta Key Beach and star gaze on the sand. After we had walked down the beach with the water and sand under our feet we decided to sit on a bench and star gaze together. After a few moments, James grabbed Lauren's hand and told her "I am going to marry you one day." Lauren was surprised and said, "You are a crazy person, this is our first date." James proceeded to say "mark my word, I am going to marry you." Well look where we are now! :)

James decided to try and surprise Lauren with a very surprise romantic night out. Of course Lauren was running late, so when we showed up to our first date spot, Daiquiri Deck on Siesta Key, James told her we needed to order togo food. Annoyed (because Lauren was hangry) and confused, we sat at a high top and ordered drinks and food togo. After we got our togo food, we drove over to Siesta Key Beach to watch the sunset. Well, James told Lauren to leave the food in the car, which confused her even more, but she did as he said. We walked to beach and took pictures of the sunset as the drum circle in the background played. When he grabbed my hand and started asking me questions about our first date, then he turned me around and got on one knee and asked the magical question! It was perfect and amazing! He even had his friend there to take pictures of the entire event without me even knowing! After the amazing moment, James surprised Lauren and told her my family was waiting for us at the bowling alley that we had our first date at. He recreated our first date, two years later, to ask the big question!
