Jacob and Lauren met the traditional way; Tinder. They were both skeptics of online dating, but would occasionally log on to see who was out there. Jacob sent Lauren a cheesy pick up line because he thought she was cute and had nothing to lose. It went something like, "If you were a vegetable you would be a cute-cumber." At the time Jacob sent this, Lauren was in an "I don't need a man" phase and didn't look at her Tinder inbox for another three months. She opened up her messages and scrolled right to Jacob's and genuinely laughed at the lame pick up line. She thought she might as well respond since this guy had the courage to lead with cute-cumber of all things. They began chatting and soon set up a date.
