Do I need a passport to travel to Mexico?
Answer
Yes. A valid passport is required for all U.S. travelers entering Mexico. Make sure it is valid for the duration of your stay!

Do I need a visa to visit Mexico?
Answer
No visa is required for U.S. citizens staying fewer than 180 days for tourism.

What documents will I receive upon arrival?
Answer
You will receive a tourist permit when you arrive. Keep this safe as you may need it when departing.

Is Cabo San Lucas safe for travelers?
Answer
Yes! Cabo is a well-traveled destination with a strong tourism infrastructure. As with any destination, use common sense. The area that we are staying in is located within a tourist destination of resorts and is very safe both during the day and at night.

Fly into Los Cabos International Airport (SJD). Please direct message either Lauren or Jackson with your flight details once you have flights booked so we can internally keep that tracked!

About 30 to 45 minutes by car, depending on traffic.

Should I book transportation in advance?
Answer
While guests can arrange transportation of their choosing, we have coordinated with Transportation Cabo Paradise for reduced rates to and from the airport. We recommend reaching out to them via WhatsApp with a text (+52 624-182-6540) letting them know that you're looking for transporting from the airport to Bahia Cabo Hotel with the following details: - You are a part of the Yomogida Wedding Party and will be using the discounted one-way rate of $80. - Location Bahia Cabo Hotel - Your Flight Arrival Date and Time - Your Airline and Flight Number - Your Party Size *Please send this message via WhatsApp well in advance of your travels so they can ensure booking confirmation and additional details to follow once you exit customs. *Bring $USD if possible as this well make travel payments + tip much easier with the driver. *Transportation Cabo Paradise provides transportation of various vehicle sizes so feel free to coordinate with other guests you may be traveling with if it makes more sense to carpool in a single vehicle.

Do I need to rent a car?
Answer
Not required. Uber is going to be the easiest method for getting around. There are countless Uber’s and you will have to wait at most 5 minutes for a ride to anywhere between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose Del Cabo if you make a day trip out of it.

How will we get to wedding events?
Answer
Transportation details to the wedding venue are provided in the main schedule page of this site. Transportation will be provided from the hotel to the venue, and then returning back to Bahia Hotel.

Where should we stay?
Answer
Our Wedding Block has been booked via Bahia Hotel. This is a boutique hotel that allows for a majority of the hotel to be reserved for our wedding party. Most if not all guests will be staying here. This makes it convenient for coordinating and visiting with other guests. Hotel room inventory may be limited so we recommend booking as soon as possible. If you require a room and do not see any available at time of booking, please contact Lauren or Jackson and we can connect with our hotel coordinator to see if additional discounted room rates can be added. At the moment there are only Single King beds available but should you want to experience anything more elevated with your room, Poolside Suites are available and can be added upon request!

What if I want to stay somewhere else?
Answer
Totally fine. Just make sure your location is within a reasonable distance of Cabo San Lucas for transportation purposes.

What currency is used in Mexico?
Answer
The Mexican Peso is the official currency, but U.S. dollars are widely accepted everywhere in Cabo.

Should I exchange money before arriving?
Answer
Not necessary. Credit cards are accepted almost everywhere, and ATMs are easy to find. If using an ATM, we recommend only using ATM at hotels or other larger retail locations for security purposes.

Do I need cash?

Most vendors take credit card but we recommend bringing US dollars in various denominations for small vendor purchases, tipping, or optional excursions.

Do I need to speak Spanish?

No. English is widely spoken in Cabo, especially in hotels, restaurants, and tourist areas.

Most U.S. carriers offer international plans or Mexico coverage. Check with your provider before traveling.

Lightweight clothing, swimsuits, sunscreen, sunglasses, and comfortable walking shoes. It will be WARM in the month of May. Evenings can be breezy so bring a light layer just in case.

Stick to bottled or filtered water. Bahia Hotel will provide small complimentary bottled water in your room and additional bottles for purchase.

Is sunscreen important?

Yes. The sun is strong, even on cloudy days. Bring reef-safe sunscreen.

Cabo has excellent restaurants and food standards. Eat where you feel comfortable and stay hydrated!
