As many of you know, we met at UNC Chapel Hill, brought together by music and mutual friends. What started with shared interests and easy conversation turned into something steady and meaningful. Over the past 8 years, we’ve built a life that feels like home, even as we’ve grown and changed. Right now, we’re in the middle of a big season of life. Lauren is graduating from PA school and starting a new career, which means moving is also in our near future. With so much happening, we decided to keep things simple: a courthouse wedding and a backyard cookout/low country boil. We took this idea from Lauren’s parents, who did a very similar and laidback wedding in October of 1992. We are excited to share this time with the people who’ve been part of our journey so far. It means a lot to be able to celebrate in such a relaxed, personal way. The proposal happened in February at the Biltmore House in Asheville, where Lauren grew up. It was quiet, thoughtful, and just right for us. Looking ahead, we’re planning a smaller destination wedding and official ceremony sometime in the next couple of years. That one will be more intimate, just a handful of close family and friends, but this gathering is just as important to us. Thank you for being part of it.
