Our all-time favorite hometown spot—cash-only. Don’t miss the lobster roll and treat yourself to a mudslide (or two)!
Just a 15-minute drive west from Water's Edge along the Connecticut shoreline is the town of Madison, where Lauren grew up and her parents still live. If you find yourself exploring, don’t miss a few of our local favorites: Stop by Ashley’s Ice Cream for a scoop of what’s often called the best ice cream in Connecticut, browse the shelves at the beloved RJ Julia Booksellers, enjoy a drink with a view at The Wharf at Madison Beach Hotel, and don’t miss Bar Bouchée—a cozy French bistro with some of the best food around.
Connecticut’s largest shoreline park featuring two miles of beach—perfect for swimming, boardwalk strolls, or exploring the nature preserve at Meigs Point.
Our favorite sports bar (when the Browns are winning) — don't skip out on the buffalo shrimp it is a must!
Our favorite breakfast place on the shoreline with over 40 different pancake varieties! There is another location in Madison too.
Just 30 minutes east of Water's Edge, Mystic is a charming seaside village known for its historic Seaport Museum featuring historic ships and a recreated 19th-century seaport. Downtown includes many great restaurants and boutiques. We highly recommend grabbing a dozen oysters at the Treehouse at Oyster Club!
