Wedding Party

Introducing our wonderful family and friends that will be walking down the aisle with us on our special day.

Taylor Benedict

Maid of Honor

Taylor Benedict is the bride’s sister, lifelong teammate, and occasional accomplice in adventure. Born just 13 months apart, Taylor and the bride might as well have been twins, growing up side-by-side and doing nearly everything together. Now living just outside Baltimore, Maryland, Taylor shares the bride’s love of sports. Their friendly rivalry carried them from youth athletics all the way to Division I collegiate rowing, where competition was fierce but the sisterly bond was stronger. While Taylor often played the role of the responsible sister, she has also spent years trying to avoid being pulled into the bride’s more creative childhood antics — including a legendary IKEA incident that the family still laughs about today. As Co-Maid of Honor, Taylor brings a lifetime of memories, steady support, and sisterly love to this very special day.

Cameron Kaplan

Best Man

The youngest. Some say youth is wasted on the young. Some say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Garrison Keillor said "when in doubt, look intelligent". Cameron does not. Harrison does, unfortunately. Whether or not he actually is...we may never know. Nonetheless, a kind and funny role model. It is my pleasure to travel up from Chapel Hill to allow the beautiful state of Virginia the opportunity to hear all the important things I have to say (regarding Harrison, of course).

Izzie Bird

Maid of Honor

Also known as the “sister from another mother,” Izzie Bird has been by Lauren’s side through some of the most important years of her life. Their friendship began during the uncertainty of COVID and the college recruitment process, when the two quickly bonded and have been inseparable ever since. Izzie was Lauren’s roommate for all four years at the University of Virginia, where they were also teammates on the UVA rowing team. Though they come from different countries and different backgrounds, their friendship proves that some bonds are simply meant to be. One particularly memorable moment was a spirited game of man hunt on the fields of UVA, which—depending on who you ask—didn’t exactly end in Lauren’s favor. Despite starting college during quarantine, the two made the absolute most of their freshman year, turning a unique start into unforgettable memories. Through every challenge and celebration, their friendship and sister-like bond have only continued to grow, and it’s only fitting that Izzie stands beside Lauren today as Co-Maid of Honor.

Jamie Kaplan

Best Man

The oldest. Jamie remembers when Harrison was born and has lived to rue the day. From the terrible twos to that terrible day when he realized that Harrison was stronger than him (probably, never tested, no way of knowing for sure), Jamie has been through it all. Now residing in New York, Jamie has deigned to grace this wedding with his indelible presence - congratulations!

Hayden Pfluke

Bridesmaid

Hayden Pfluke is a childhood friend and one of the most welcoming people you could ever meet. When Lauren’s family moved to Georgia, Hayden was the first to open her arms and make them feel at home, introducing them to true Southern hospitality and friendship. Even after Lauren’s family moved away, their friendship never faded. Remaining as strong as ever over the years. Quirky, adventurous, and occasionally a little bit disastrous in the best possible way, Hayden is exactly the kind of friend you want in your corner. The two share countless memories and unique adventures, and their friendship has brought their families together for many years. Hayden’s deep love for nature and animals has always been a big part of who she is and it’s a passion she proudly shares with Lauren.

Will Holsinger

Groomsman

Will grew up in Illinois (go Cubs) and Ohio where he rowed all through high school and attended USNA where he met Harry on the rowing team. He has been very fortunate to have Harry as one of his closest friends these past few years. Harry has always been there for Will when he has been a bit over served (payback is coming) or needed somebody to annoy to lift my spirits. Will says, “Harrison is a true friend and I am so glad that he found Lauren at the bottom of that staircase. I can’t wait to celebrate. Congratulations, love you brother!”

Abbie Bird

Bridesmaid

Abbie has been a steady and stabilizing presence in Lauren’s life since Lauren’s high school graduation, when she made the decision to join the University of Virginia rowing team. Serving as the older sister Lauren never had, Abbie has always been the voice of reason everyone needs—offering wisdom, encouragement, and a calm perspective when it matters most. A mentor to Lauren both in life and in athletics, Abbie was also Lauren’s captain on the UVA rowing team, leading with strength, kindness, and just the right balance of fun. During the adversity of COVID, Abbie played an important role in bringing the team together and building camaraderie, helping teammates stay connected during a challenging time. One of the most special memories is how Abbie helped bring Lauren, Izzie, and their teammates closer together as they began their university experience, forming friendships that would last far beyond college. As Lauren and Harrison begin their life together, Abbie will undoubtedly continue to be a trusted sounding board and guiding presence for them both.

Sawyer Stevens

Groomsman

Sawyer grew up in Scott City, KS. After playing football basketball and track in highschool. He attended the USNA. At USNA he walked on to the Heavyweight Crew Team where he met Harry. They rowed together for four years and endured multiple regime changes. Ask anyone on the rowing team, without the boys Harry would still be a bot or possibly something much worse. Don’t ask Harry about the sandbaby. After Navy they both went to TBS which they are finally done (thank God).

Leia Till

Bridesmaid

We met rowing both with and against each other throughout high school, then followed the same path that led us home to UVA. 15-year-old Leia and Lauren would be jumping up and down with excitement if they saw us now!!<3

Alex Conway

Groomsman

Alex grew up in the best state in the union, Michigan. After graduating Portage Central high school where he played football, he attended the Naval Academy, where he was Harrison Kaplan’s freshman year roommate. Alex was instrumental in Harrison’s transformation from complete robot to something could possibly pass as a human. Alex graduated college in May 2025 with Harrison and graduated TBS with Harrison in March 2026. He is an infantry officer (way cooler than 7209).

Stephanie Huber

Flower Girl

Stephanie Huber is Lauren’s second cousin and an avid dancer who brings energy, enthusiasm, and a bright personality wherever she goes. Whether she’s dancing, performing, or simply enjoying time with family, Stephanie has a lively spirit that makes those around her smile. Lauren is happy to have Stephanie be part of her wedding day as Flower Girl, bringing her joyful energy to the celebration and sharing in this special family occasion.
