Lauren & Guangyu

Their story began on Hinge when one of Lauren’s friends liked Guangyu’s profile on her behalf. After she tested him by giving out the wrong number (by accident), they had a great first date at Bluestone Lane coffee in New York!

Then a tiny virus called Covid hit, changing the world and their relationship. What could have been an obstacle became a stepping stone in their love story. Quarantining together, sharing quiet moments and deep conversations, they found strength and comfort in each other’s company. On July 1, 2023, Guangyu proposed on Martha’s Vineyard, and Lauren said yes.

This custom illustration captures the essence of their relationship. On May 1, 2025, under the beautiful arches of Tivoli Italian Villa, nestled among the majestic California, Lauren and Guangyu will tie the knot. Surrounded by friends and family from around the globe they’ll celebrate the union of two families, two cultures, and two hearts becoming one—the Chen’s.
