Our paths first crossed in the summer of 2018 at Lake Tahoe. Not long after, we both ended up at Chapman University that fall. While we spent some time together, life moved quickly—Lauren transferred to CU Boulder in the spring, and we lost touch as college took us in different directions. Then came 2020. During that summer, Lauren visited Grant in Orange County for what was supposed to be a short trip. That visit turned into a reconnection, and we ended up spending the rest of the summer together in Tahoe. Over the next few years, we traveled back and forth between Colorado and California as we finished college. After Grant graduated from Chapman, we spent a few years in Colorado (where we adopted our dog Polo!) before eventually settling back in Orange County. We enjoyed many more beach days and sunsets together, reminiscent of the beginning of our relationship. In the summer of 2024, we returned to Tahoe, as we did every summer. Grant proposed on the dock, a place that has been part of our story from the very start.
