If it wasn't for a global pandemic, Lauren would have NEVER been on a dating app. She refused to believe that she would meet her future husband through a phone. When the world shut down, she said to her roommate (and now bridesmaid) "well I guess I can't knock it if I don't try it right?" She finally had time and space that she never had and decided to give it a try. Swipe. Nope. Swipe. Nope. Swipe, maybe? OK NOPE. Then "Hmmm Pediatric Occupational Therapist, DIYer, loves to travel, HANDSOME." Swipe YES. MATCHED (insert heart eyes). He messages. Lauren messages back. No response..... Lauren messages a 2nd time and BOOM. Conversation started and Galo was taken aback that she messaged again and he thought "damn she knows what she wants." Lauren was living in Harlem at the time, Galo was secretly NOT a fan of NYC, but was interested, so he asked how often she comes back to NJ. At that moment she was actually in NJ so he asked her out on their first date. (If she wasn't in NJ, you probably wouldn't be reading this story.) FIRST DATE WAS 6 HOURS. Galo was sure and knew she was the one, and Lauren was not so sure. The dates continued and Lauren really thought Galo just wanted another friend and she was NOT going to waste her time. She was going to call it off that night and Galo finally kissed her. Lauren was super confused but they both felt the butterflies and decided to give it a chance.
