One of our favorite dates was exploring the Lake Michigan Shore Wine Trail. There are 15 wineries tucked along the lakeshore, each with its own charm. If you go, you have to stop at Red Top Winery — it’s our go-to and the perfect place to relax with a glass (or two).
An 18-hole public Jack Nicklaus Signature Course right on Lake Michigan. It has hosted the Senior PGA Championship and is a favorite for golfers visiting the area. If you’re bringing your clubs, this is the place to play!
About 10 minutes from the venue, you can pick fresh cherries and strawberries — both will be in season during our wedding weekend! Michigan fruit is the best in the summer, and it’s such a fun little outing if you have some extra time.
A true local dive bar and cash-only spot, The Welcome Inn is just a short distance from the Tru and Fairfield hotels. It’s one of the few places in the area open until 2 a.m., so if you’re looking to keep the party going after the wedding, this is your place!
This local favorite is inside a converted Amtrak depot, with great pizza, cold beer, and a fun view of trains passing by!
A retro-style bowling alley with housemade hard cider and a mix of arcade games — it’s a fun, low-key spot to hang out and try something different while you’re in town.
