How We Met

And so, the adventure began...

In the fall semester of 2020, we met at a random college party and began talking on snap chat. Lauren went home for Christmas break, but continued to text and chat with Ethan throughout the break. When school started in the spring, Lauren was looking for a formal date and happened to ask Ethan to her spring formal in hopes to not attend alone. Luckily enough, Ethan said yes, not knowing what he was getting himself into. Ethan bought four different ties to try to match Lauren's dress. After a great first impression, and a long party night later, they began to hang out more. Many chipotle dates, movie nights, and pool parties later, they became official on June 15, 2021.

The Engagement

Somewhere on a beach.

Ethan's parents, Josh and LeeAnne Mullen, invited Lauren and Ethan on their anniversary trip to Turks & Caicos. This long awaited trip came quicker than anyone imagined. Lauren oblivious to it all was happy to be heading to a beach vacation. While the rest of the crew was stressing out trying to get the ring through security and on the plane without Lauren noticing. They arrived in Turks & Caicos and enjoyed all the drinks and food on the first night. The first full day of vacation, we had planned on going to our fancy dinner of the week. The day was flying by and the time came to get ready. Little did Lauren know, Ethan was stressing out and couldn't keep his cool. We had started getting ready at 5pm, even though we didn't need to go until 7pm. Lauren was completely ready and drank two glasses of wine before Ethan had gotten in the shower. Time stood still for about 45 minutes. LeeAnne was talking forever to finish her glass of wine while Ethan and Josh were standing in the other room trying to figure out how to hide the ring box that was sticking out three inches in his pocket. When the time came to leave, we walked down to the pier to "take a picture of the sunset ". Ethan got distracted by trying to keep the photographer quiet, and not to cause a scene, he nudged Lauren off the steps. We walked into the sand and Lauren caught on to what was happening. Ethan led her into the heart in the sand made of red rose petals and candles and asked Lauren to marry him. After many tears and a quick photo session, they had a candle light dinner on the beach with crashing waves, champagne, and steak. A beautiful night to remember.
