How We Came to Be

'Skegee brought us together, but LA is where we fell in love.

We both were Cali kids going to Tuskegee University, but only hung out as friends. Then we reconnected in LA thanks to a mutual friend from college, and, even then, we were only hanging out as friends. Went to Dodger games, ate great food (perks of hanging with a chef), it was great. Let the record show, it was I, Lauren, who made the first move and kissed EJ, and he will make sure you know this any and every time someone asks how we met. Ain't no shame in my game, I sure did go for it! I know a good man when I see one. We made it official shortly after on 8/18/17, fell in love by October, and been falling ever since. On 8/18/20, EJ completely surprised me by having many of our family, friends, and loved ones witness him propose to me at our first date spot, the Top of the Hill in Signal Hill, right at sunset (gold stars all around for EJ for putting that unforgettable moment together), surrounded by love. And now, we are honored to have our family, friends, and loved ones bear witness of our union. The Rest of Forever.
