We met through a mutual friend shortly after we’d both moved back into the area, and saw each other only in passing for some time. We didn’t talk much, but ran in similar circles and crossed paths here and there. There was a night in March of 2021, he stopped by my house in St. Ann to drop off another friend’s backpack. It sounds cheesy, but when I opened the door that night I think I actually looked at him for the first time. When he smiled, I instantly knew I liked him. His eyes were a greenish-blue. His shaggy, bleached hair was a mess and I loved it. I think I said something like, “you have beautiful eyes. My roommate is making hot dogs, do you want one?”. He stayed for dinner! And the rest was history. The first “I love you”s were traded after only 2 weeks, and have been traded every day since. Four and a half years, 2 cats, and many, many sinks full of dishes later, we’re so excited to finally seal the deal! We wouldn’t be who we are today without each other, and we can’t wait to continue growing and changing together as we travel this winding road of life. Looking back on the Lauren and Dylan that met that night in March years ago never fails to get a laugh out of us. We look forward to celebrating the beautiful start to this new chapter with all of you!
Due to the intimate size of our ceremony venue, nestled inside a beautiful cave, we are very limited in the number of guests we can accommodate. Because of this, only immediate family members, their spouses, and members of the wedding party will be able to attend our September 6th ceremony and reception. We humbly ask that those attending who are not immediately related to the couple or in the wedding parties feel free to mingle with drinks at the cozy reception location and enjoy a view of the sunset over the lake for the brief duration of the in-cave ceremony. We would love to be able to bring everyone underground with us, but the space is tight! Thank you for understanding, we cannot wait to celebrate with you afterward! We will be hosting a second reception on October 17th, in St. Louis, at a venue large enough to accommodate a larger celebration to which family, extended family, and friends alike may gather for an evening of drinks, food, and dancing at the Jewel Box in Forest Park!
