Louisiana's Old State Capitol
Louisiana's Old State Capitol sits on a hill overlooking the Mississippi River in downtown Baton Rouge. Completed in 1849, the castle-like fortress has been restored to its original grandeur. It houses both traditional and state-of-the-art interactive exhibits and a multi-media film presentation. Audio tours available in English, French, German and Spanish. Free admission.

Parrain's Seafood opened in September 2001 with a commitment to bring you the freshest and highest quality seafood in town. We have mouth-watering selections that are featured daily on our extensive menu. We offer daily specials for lunch and dinner as well as select brunch items on Sundays. Our menu includes delicious items that are prepared fresh to order.
Mike the Tiger's Habitat
Mike the Tiger, a famed live Bengal Tiger that serves as the graphic image of all LSU Athletics teams, resides between Tiger Stadium and the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. In 2005, a $3.7 million 15,000-square foot environment was created during the reign of Mike V that included lush planting, a live oak tree, a waterfall and a stream evolving from a rocky backdrop overflowing with plants and trees. On the first day of the 2017 fall semester at LSU, Mike VII officially began his reign. Mike VII, who has both Siberian and Bengal characteristics, was donated to LSU from a sanctuary in Okeechobee, Fla., called “Wild at Heart Wildlife Center.”
The Chimes
The Chimes Restaurant & Tap Room has been a Baton Rouge and LSU tradition serving fine patrons for over 25 years. We have continued to grow and have brought this tradition to our second location in Baton Rouge, a third location in Covington, and now a fourth, located in Lafayette. Our goal is to provide a relaxed, family friendly experience while serving the best made-from-scratch menu possible. Riverfront Plaza & City Dock
Located between the Mississippi River, the Pennington Planetarium, the USS Kidd war museum and memorial and the Baton Rouge River Center, the plaza offers seating atop the Mississippi River levee. Also features a fountain, a 4 panel mural, observation deck, and access to the USS Kidd Fletcher Class destroyer.
