Darren and Lauren met at Cargill, where they both work. He was a Line Lead ( blue hat ) and Lauren was a white hat. They had both worked there for quite some time but never interacted. When Darren finally became her boss he would always have Lauren work next to him. One day Lauren asked Darren if he wanted to go to Watkins Glen, New York and go for a hike. After that they became the best of friends. They hung out everyday after work. Eventually Darren started to get feelings for Lauren and she did for him as well. They went on their first official date at Pizza Hut. A few weeks went by and Darren asked Lauren out to dinner again. They went to Maiolatesi Wine Cellars. Darren and Lauren both love wine so it was perfect! After that date that’s when Darren asked Lauren to make it official. They were finally girlfriend and boyfriend on August 31, 2024!

Darren and Lauren were on vacation in Yellowstone National Park! They were there for 3 days. They saw Mammoth Hot Springs, Grand Teton National Park, and so many other amazing things. But on the third day Darren wanted to go to the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone! At the canyon there is a beautiful waterfall with many hiking trails. They went early in the morning so there wasn’t a lot of people. They hiked down a trail which led to an amazing view of the waterfall. Once they got there, they set up Lauren’s phone on record to get a picture of the two of them. Darren left the phone recording and that’s when he told Lauren he needed to tell her something. He read out loud to Lauren a beautiful message he had written months before, he got down on one knee and popped the question! On June 25, 2025 was when they were officially engaged! It was such a beautiful memory that they will always share with each other.
