Maid of Honor
Leanne: Being Lauren's younger sister had taught me a lot. I know I could go to her whenever I needed help or just needed someone to talk to. Being the only younger girl in our (extended) family for a while was hard because it made me feel lonely and unwanted. But having my sister around and her being my best friend took that feeling away. I love that she is goofy and weird like me. I love that she loves music like me. I love how strong of a women she is. It's made me a proud younger sister to see her grow into the women she is today. I couldn't be any more proud standing next to her on her big day. Love you :) Lauren: I remember when my parents brought this tiny little human home and remember being very confused. I was not told that we were getting a baby?! Joking aside, I am not going to lie and say that we were always so close because as sisters do, we fought... a lot. Especially with a 9 year age gap, it wasn't always easy. But now, I couldn't imagine not having a little sister. We do everything and anything together. We are similar and different but we couldn't be without each other. When I met Dan, I knew Leanne would be my maid of honor. I am so happy to have her stand by me. Love you!
Co-Best Man
Steve is my oldest brother. He currently lives in LA, but grew up here in the Chicagoland area. With us being 2 hours apart, this always helped me to be able to call him late at night to talk. Being the youngest, I know Steve had to deal with a lot from his younger brother. I am glad to have an older brother that always looks out for me. Steve always pushes me to be the best me. Steve & Kevin have been very influential in my life, that they both deserve the honors of being called my best men. Fun fact: Steve taught me how to parallel park & taxes! (equally important!)
Matron of Honor
Tegan: Lauren is my sister in law but she's so much more. I started dating her older brother in 2008 and that is when our friendship started. I didn't expect to become so close and gain another best friend. It was one of the best surprises of my life. Lauren and I are different in some ways but also very alike. We share the love of dance, food, tattoos, movies, and lots of laughs. Lauren is one of the most beautiful women I know inside and out. I am very lucky to call her my sister, an amazing aunt to my two boys, but also one of my most cherished friends. Lauren: I was confused on why movies made it seem like having a sister in law is not fun because Tegan is one of my favorite people ever. There is a reason she will be standing by my side as Matron of Honor. She allows me to be myself without judgement. We used to be in the same classes in high school but did not really talk much. Little did I know that she would be family one day.
Co-Best Man
Kevin is one of my older brothers. Like Steve, I'm sure Kevin had to deal with a lot from me being the youngest. Kevin and I both share the same humor. He was the one that got me interested in volleyball, and helped get me interested in joining the high school team. Growing up, people used to say we were like twins for how we acted. He is someone I look up to not only as a brother, but how he is as a father. Fun Fact: Officiated our civil wedding during covid
Bridesmaid
Djoanna: I am Lauren's older cousin [more like cousins-sisters]. We all grew up super close and have been lucky to experience life milestones together. We experienced high school, college and living away from home together when we got our first apartment. I remember so many nights joking around and eating pizza when we should have been studying. I am honored to be a part of Lauren's next milestone and she and Dan get ready to tie the knot! Lauren: Djoanna has always been like an older sister and a confidant. I have always been able to turn to her when needed. Living at U of I with her was an amazing experience and she always put me at ease [I get home sick very easily]. I knew she would be by my side when I got married ever since she told me she created a Pinterest wedding board when Dan and I started dating. Now here we are.
Groomsman
Jigz or as we like to call him Kuya (elder brother) is Lauren's older brother. I met Jigz at Sushi Station with his wife Tegan. I was told by Lauren that Jigz wanted to know all about me. He asked for my name, DOB, address, and my social security number... just to check me out. Jigz has always been another big brother to me, and I am glad to be able to call him my brother. He is an amazing father to his kids, and I am glad to be able to be an uncle to them. Fun Fact: Has the best cars. Bonus Fun Fact: Lauren told him I had a "Classic Car" when we met. She meant to say old. I was driving a '95 Mercury Sable (Not a classic car).
Bridesmaid
Sarah: Just before meeting my cousin, Lo, I remember Djoanna telling me that she was cool and was a huge Spice Girls fan. I also remember thinking" who does she think she is?!" because I was the biggest Spice Girls fan. I think we first met on a family trip to WI Dells and quickly grew close. I won't ever forget the time we stayed up and cried to The Notebook while everyone else slept. Through the years, we bonded over our interests such as scary/suspenseful movies and shows, health and fitness, drooling over hot celebrities, music, and karaoke of course. My favorite memories with her are dancing to the Spice Girls. I am very excited to relive that on the dance floor at her wedding. Lauren: Sarah has unmatched energy and I can always count on her to help me have fun. We have so many things in common so there is never a dull moment. I remember dancing to 90's and 2000's music and how much fun we always had. She is able to always put me in a good mood and enjoy the moment. I am so happy to have her stand next to me.
Groomsman
Jason is Lauren's younger brother. I met Jason on my 21st birthday at U of I. Both Jason and Lauren like to claim that they are twins. Due to how close they are. I quickly bonded with Jason due to our shared hobbies/interest. I am happy to be able to call Jason my brother. Fun fact: Best Style
Bridesmaid
Abbey: I am one of Lauren's many younger cousins. We shared a room for 9 years and went on to share an apartment for 2 years in college. We have made many memories together! My favorite memories of us were staying up late and talking about everything and anything. I am so honored to be apart of Lauren and Dan's wedding and can't wait for the big day. Lauren: Abbey and I have lived together through many years which means that we know many things about each other. Especially in those late nights where we open up to each other about whatever was on our mind. We even had mutual friends so we were together a lot. She is someone I can turn to and talk to about anything. I am so excited to have Abbey next to me on the special day.
Groomsman
I met Brooks in 8th grade in junior high school, but didn't become best-friends until the following year in high school. Over these years, Brooks has always been there for me. He is one to always think of out of the box ideas to have some fun. Brooks also attended U of I, where Lauren and I would visit him. Best memories during our time at U of I would be staying in at his place and listening to music. Fun Fact: Best Humor
Bridesmaid
Kristen: Lauren is one of my older cousins and have always admired as an older sister. We have spent many bonding moments over art and music. Doing late night crafts like making bracelets, decorating her dresser with nail polis, or waiting for our turn on the karaoke. You will usually find us on the dance floor even when no one else is dancing. Now, I look forward to watching her share the dance floor with her lifelong lover. Lauren- Kristen is the super creative cousin who can make anything. She has such a fun loving outlook on life and I have always admired that. I know that I can always count on her. I am super excited to have a blast with her on such a special day.
Groomsman
I first met Sean during our elementary school days because we both learned piano from my grandmother. Fast-forward years later and we began our friendship in junior high. We had science class together, and also did student council in 8th grade. In high school, we began hanging out with our group of friends (including Brooks). Sean is someone who has always been a close friend, and someone I can turn to. Fun Fact: He is my go to guy for tech & pop culture.
Bridesmaid
Sudeepti: We met while being suite-mates during our freshman year of college at our dorm. One night, I lost my load of laundry and was upset (lol) and went into our shared bathroom at 1 am, only to find Lauren sitting on the counter after a night out. We finally broke the ice as suite-mates and got to know each other. Soon enough, I forgot about my lost laundry and that was the start of our friendship. We spend every minute (while not in class) together during freshman year and made each other laugh constantly! More than 10 years later, we are still great friends and I cannot wait to stand by her side on her special day. Lauren: Deepti and I met freshman year and we had just clicked right away. My best memories are staying up until 4 or 5 am in the lobby of our dorm, making friends with people, and sharing our lives. She can always make me laugh and I know I can talk to her about anything. While we don't speak on a daily basis as much since graduating, I still consider her one of my closest friends. I cherish our friendship so much and am so happy that she will be with me on such a big day.
Bridesmaid
Kylie: We have been friends since high school and became best friends in French class. We were a package deal after that; everyone knew that we did everything together. We love to just hangout and talk for hours. Lauren is the sweetest! Lauren: Kylie and I have known each other for a while but became very close towards the end of high school. She is one of my closest best friends and I cherish our friendship so much! I am so excited to have her by my side. She is probably the kindest person you'll meet.
