We met in 2012 while working on a poetry project in High School. Lauren was a Freshman and Curtis was a Senior, both had no idea that they were sitting with their future spouses at the time. Lauren would do her hair and makeup on the days she knew she'd see Curtis, she had the biggest crush on him. She knew that Curtis stood out from the rest because he loved Jesus and loved those around him. 5 years later we crossed paths again and Curtis asked Lauren out for coffee. During our first date we sat and talked for 4 hours in the window of Goat Hill Coffee in West-side KC. We would see each other once a week for sweet dates for a month and a half. On December 22nd Curtis said, "I've been praying about this and I would like to start 2018 with you as my girlfriend". 15 months later Curtis got down on both knees and said, "I've been praying about this, Lauren, will you be my wife & can i be your husband".
We are excited to get married to ultimately glorify God with our marriage. We take this covenant seriously and aim to live by the words of Jesus, "So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” Matthew 19:6
