Clay and I met four years ago at a mutual friends house. We both went to high school in Senatobia, but our paths never crossed. It was my last year at Northwest and Clays first year. One night we were both at our friend Wills house and I remember seeing Clay and thinking “he is so cute who is that.” We did not talk much that night but when he left I said, “bye, be careful going home,” and he had the biggest smile on his face. Right after he left I was asking Will about him. Clay then called Will the next morning and asked about me. I literally went home and told my mamaw that I met the boy I was going to marry. After that things moved a little slow with us because I never seemed to run into him. I ended up going to a party where I just knew I would run into Clay. I found him and we exchanged numbers and talked for forever that night. A few days later Clay never reached out to me so I made the first move and texted him first. We have talked almost everyday since then.

Clay and I have talked about marriage for awhile, but I honestly had no idea when he would propose to me. I knew the weekend of Oct 23rd Briley and Bailey would be here and we always make plans when they are in town. Several of my friends here also wanted to hangout with Briley so I said lets just all go eat Como Steakhouse. So the week of Clay asked me if I wanted to go to deer camp, and I never get to go to camp so I was all for that! Saturday morning we went to breakfast and then we hangout all day and got ready to hunt that afternoon. I knew we were meeting our friends for dinner after so I went ahead and did my hair and put my makeup on. We got ready to go hunt like normal so I thought nothing of it. The day before Luke Combs came out with a song I have been waiting on for months, Forever After All, so on the way Clay said “hey play our new Luke Combs song.” I still did not think anything was going on because I am constantly playing Luke Combs everywhere we go. So we get to where we are supposed to hunt and we got the ranger off the trailer. We drove through the most beautiful pecan orchard, I literally told clay the day before that would be the prettiest place to take pictures at. We were driving to the stand and then clay jumped off to get his “binoculars,” so he told me, I look over and Clay is on one knee with the most beautiful ring! He asked me to marry him and I just kept looking at him I could not answer him I was in such shock, he said are you going to answer me? I said well yes I’ll marry you! Then I hear someone whistle and I look over and Jeff, Bailey, Briley, and Cayla are there videoing and taking pictures! It was absolutely perfect. Clay then tells me there is a party waiting on us at his house with some of our closet family and friends! The theme of the party was “the hunt is over,” and everyone was wearing camo! It was the best day and I can not thank Clay enough for all of his hard work he put into that night!
