After medical school in Washington, life brought her to Ventura for residency in Family Medicine — long hours, new beginnings, and one ICU rotation that changed everything. During that rotation, she met Charles on a dating app (classic millennials, we know) — a match that felt like far more than coincidence, but perhaps fate. Charles, who grew up in Whittier and Long Beach, had built a career in accounting before following his passion into medical device sales, working in spinal cord stimulation for Medtronic. He took a leap of faith and made the move to Camarillo, unsure where his new career would take him. As fate would have it, he worked at the same hospital as Lauren. From the moment they met, something just clicked. Between their obsession with coffee, working out, and weekend escapes to LA Galaxy Games or Cheesecake Factory for the 5th time this month, they found a rhythm that felt natural and rare. They even trained for the Long Beach Half Marathon together and Charles ran the New York marathon with Lauren supporting him on the sidelines, cheering him on. Their connection grew from quiet understanding into a deep, unwavering love — one built on laughter, patience, and a shared sense of purpose. They truly love each other and know that a love like theirs is the joining of two souls through God. Today, they still spend every moment they can together (as you probably have noticed)— grateful that in the chaos of residency and career changes, fate made sure their paths crossed.
