After moving home to Seattle in 2017, Lauren reluctantly got back on Bumble. She quickly matched with Cam and knew he was a good one when he recommended a sushi date (sushi is one of our favorites - let us know if you want recommendations!). Before we knew it, we were laughing at a roll on the menu called “Mr. Perfect”. It was perfect and we set up our second date (after Cam apologized for not walking Lauren to her car... chivalry is only half-dead). We spent a lot of time that first year skiing together and meeting each other's family and friends. Early on, Cam was able to convince Lauren to get on a snowmobile with him after she swore she never would again (lol) and pulled off the best surprise she'd ever experienced when he showed up in San Diego for her birthday after telling her he couldn't make it. I think we both could tell it was quickly becoming something special. Cam will say he knew Lauren was the one after their second date, but it still took him a few years. He was ready to propose in 2020 and then, you know, COVID happened. He kept waiting for the right moment; the next time we could take a trip, but then thought, "what the heck am I waiting for?" So he booked us a spa weekend in Hood Canal and proposed in front of Rocky Brook Falls on our way to the resort. We kicked off our engagement with fresh Hama Hama oysters and champagne to celebrate. You all are so special to us and we cannot wait to party with you!
