Our Story
Sept 2018: We met at a church fellowship new student event and became friends soon after. (We actually sat right across from each other, but it wasn't love at first sight)
June 2019: Caleb kept Lauren entertained during her overnight work shifts as a CNA by sending her Words With Friends (WWF) games and texting over the summer.
Oct 2019: Lauren lost WWF and had to pay for dinner at Sakanaya - the nicest sushi restaurant on campus! After a looong walk, Caleb finally asked Lauren out.
March - Aug 2020: Long-distance due to Covid - many hours of FaceTime, K-dramas, virtual dates, and conversations.
May 2022: We graduated from UIUC. More long distance as Caleb moved to Chicago, and Lauren returned to UIUC for grad school.
2022-2025: Lots of visits to Champaign, adventures in Chicago, and travel with friends.
April 2025: Caleb secretly bought a ring to surprise Lauren. Lauren thought she was just hanging out with her friends, but Caleb surprised her with a proposal! <3
