Travel

We know Hattiesburg is way-out-of-the-way for many of you. Thank you for taking the trek, and here are all of our notes on the best options to get here and stay cozy on your trip.

Flight

PIB | Hattiesburg - Laurel Regional Airport

There is a regional airport with daily round-trip flights to Houston,TX (IAH) via United. If you prefer to fly directly, this is your best bet! There are also airports in Gulfport, MS, Jackson, MS, and Mobile, AL - all an 1.5 hour drive from Hattiesburg. We have had trouble in the past sourcing rental cars from these locations, please plan accordingly!

Flight

MSY - New Orleans Louis Armstrong International Airport

Do you like drinking? Grab some beignets and a Drive-thru daquiris on your way out of town. All jokes aside, this is the cheapest airport to fly into, has the most options, and will likely have car rentals for those who need it. If you're feeling adventurous, you can also take the train from New Orleans to Hattiesburg (more info below).

Flight

Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport

Gulfport on the MS Gulf Coast is also about an hour and a half drive from Hattiesburg. There are a surprising amount of airlines that fly here, so it might be the right place for you!

Flight

Mobile Regional Airport

Mobile, Alabama (Lauren's hometown) is only about an hour and fifteen minute drive from Hattiesburg, and depending on where you're flying from, could be a great option for an airport!

Flight

Jackson–Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport

Jackson, MS is a bit farther than Mobile or Gulfport, but about the same drive as New Orleans!

Train

Crescent Line

While I only had the motorcycle, a few times I took the Amtrak train from New Orleans to Hattiesburg! It runs daily and leaves NOLA around 9am, getting into Hattiesburg after 11am. Going back, the train arrives in Hattiesburg around 5pm (experience says 7), and arrives in NOLA after 10pm. - Austin

The nicest hotel in Hattiesburg - it's centrally located and has a pretty good bar!

Hotel

Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Hattiesburg

House Or Rental

Thomley's Christmas Tree Farm

50 Hegwood Road, Hattiesburg, MS 39402

We went to this Christmas tree farm this year and saw this house - if there's a group or kids, it would be worth check them out! These is a second house on the property with more bedrooms (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/543558490865217653).

Travel Note

Travel to and from the Venue

Hattiesburg, while obviously being a bustling metropolis, is unfortunately lacking in the ride-share department. Our venue has plenty of parking space but is about a 15 minute drive from the majority of the hotels. Please plan ahead for a designated driver if you plan to drink at our open bar, it might be very hard to call up an uber or a lyft at the end of the night!
