Pullen Park
Pullen Park is about a 10-minute drive from downtown. The park features a central area with playgrounds, concessions, a family train ride around the park, and a carousel. There’s also a large lake where you can rent a paddle boat, and several paths weave throughout the park as well.
Videri Chocolate Factory
Videri is a small chocolate factory in downtown Raleigh that serves pastries, coffee, and freshly made chocolate. During the day, you can see each step of the chocolate-making process firsthand. If you visit when the factory is not in use, you can still see the equipment, look through the viewing windows, and, of course, grab some samples! Fun fact: Lauren’s 16th birthday party was held here!
Morgan Street Food Hall
This funky spin on cafeteria-style dining features a diverse selection of local eateries and food retailers. From cheeseburgers to sushi, salads, and classic Southern comfort food, it’s the perfect place to gather a group of friends or family and enjoy a meal on their spacious patio. (There may or may not be a speakeasy inside!)
The Raleigh Times
Raleigh’s past, present, and future are all on display at this 100-year-old building, which has been beautifully restored to house this fine establishment. Old press clippings and images from the namesake newspaper adorn the walls, capturing the rich cultural and political history unique to the Capital City. Exceptional cuisine—featuring handcrafted takes on classic bar fare favorites—as well as the inventive drink menu and extensive Belgian beer selection, are newsworthy additions to downtown Raleigh.
