Question

Once Upon a Time...

Answer

In the fall of 2016, Alex and Lauren were sophomores at Villanova. They were registered for the same section of Business Analytics (VSB 2008). Through this, they were invited to a baseball analytics networking event at Citizens Bank Park. Not knowing the way to the stadium, Lauren emailed the group of attendees asking if anyone would like to share a ride. In minutes, Alex responded saving the day and $20 in uber fares, offering to show Lauren how to use public transit. The two had a nice trip to the city bonding over their Yankee fandom. Here their friendship began. Despite having mutual friends, they didn’t interact much over the next few semesters having studied abroad at different times. In the summer of ‘18, Alex was a newly single bachelor visiting friends in NYC. He met up with Lauren & her sisters in the back of a dive bar on the east side. Soon after, they went on their first date on the boardwalk in Asbury Park. Lauren arrived first and paced nervously when Alex was over 20 min late. Was he standing her up? He finally arrived, racing over from his Spikeball tourney. We see his priorities. The two began their relationship senior year of college. They lived around the block from each other and had the time of their lives with the minimal classwork and packed social calendar. As graduation neared, their existing post-grad plans on different coasts put their future together in doubt. However, a heartfelt dinner at Barcelona Wine Bar helped prove how special their relationship was. Lauren found a new job in the Big Apple closer to Alex. They embarked on a more manageable long distance journey. Three years of long stretches apart and countless BOS x NYC bus/train/plane rides later (Lauren is still traumatized), Alex and Lauren are settled in NYC on the Upper East Side living a happy life. They love hosting friends & family at their at-home bar, having wine & game nights, trying new restaurants, and going to Yankee games together. Cheers to a lifetime ahead!
