Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Lauren Holmes and Alexandra Palmer
Pittsburgh is quite possibly the biggest little city in the the northeast! Diverse and quirky, we wanted to share with you some of our favorite Pittsburgh spots for eating, drinking, learning and just generally being cozy on those chilly autumn evenings.
Big Dog Coffee

Big Dog Coffee

2717 Sarah Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15203
, (412) 283-6023

Our first date was in this cozy little Pittsburgh gem!

Harold's Haunt

Harold's Haunt

142 Grant Avenue, Millvale, PA 15209
, (412) 283-6023

One of our favorite places to get pizza and play board games!

Max's Allegheny Tavern

Max's Allegheny Tavern

537 Suismon Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15212
, (412) 231-1899

Fantastic German food in Pittsburgh's own Deutschtown.

Waffallonia

Waffallonia

1709 Murray Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15217
, (412) 521-4902

No better place to eat a waffle with ice cream! Alex recommends the Cinnamon Antwerp Lauren recommends the Chocolate Antwerp *Mghm!*

Senator John Heinz History Center

Senator John Heinz History Center

Love history? Love Pittsburgh? Heinz History Center loves both. At least go for the giant ketchup bottle.

Pittsburgh Glass Center

Pittsburgh Glass Center

, (412) 365-2145

Inspire your inner artisan. This place is a one stop shop for learning, making and admiring all things glass.

Pittsburgh Botanic Garden

Pittsburgh Botanic Garden

799 Pinkerton Run Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15071
, (412) 444-4464

Alex proposed to Lauren here with a handwritten note and a beautiful ring she designed!

Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh - Main (Oakland)

Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh - Main (Oakland)

4400 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213
, (412) 622-3114

Lauren proposed to Alex among the rows of books on the floor with the windows overlooking the dinosaur bones! Great place to read and get your nerd on. The Museum of Natural History and the Museum of Art and Music Hall are also adjacent to this library.

Bost Building

Bost Building

623 East 8th Avenue, Homestead, PA 15120
, (412) 464-4020

One of several hotspots during the Homestead Lockout and Strike, the Bost Building was of extraordinary significance to America's labor history. Be sure to swing by the pumphouse near the Homestead Waterfront shopping center. You can't go inside it, but you can see the Carrie Blast Furnaces from there too! Side note for Nerdy Nerds: A really cool stone labyrinth commemorating the steel mills of Pittsburgh is not far from the pumphouse along the Greater Allegheny Passage bike trail.

For all the days along the way
