We first met in Mrs. Bumper's fourth grade class at Coconut Creek Elementary. We grew up in the same neighborhood and attended all the same schools. Crazy thing is we never really interacted with each other. So, fast forward to Summer 2020 in the midst of COVID we start chatting through the infamous Instagram DM. After long chats, we finally went on our first date in August 2020...two months later we made it official and two years later we were engaged.

On our way to a family cruise to the Bahamas, right as we are leaving to head to the port, Alex asked Mr. and Mrs. Gonzalez for their blessing. Of COURSE they said YES! Raul even teared up. I impatiently waited for Alex to get in the car wondering what was taking so long (I like to be on time). After three days on the ship and Alex waiting for the right moment, he did just that and found the perfect moment. It was a quiet morning with just the three of us (Alex, Me, and Naeemah), while we were finishing our packing to get off the ship. He was talking about how perfect Bennie (our dog was) and transitioned to say just like you and bent down on his knees and asked me to be his wife....And DUH I said yes. Well after tearing up and being in shock that is :)
