I’ve always heard that good things come when you least expect them, and for our story, that couldn’t be more true. I had reached a point in my relationship with God where I was truly content if it was just him and I for the rest of my life. And it was in that season of surrender that he chose to bless me with Alec. I had known Alec through my job for a while, but I never thought anything of it. One day, I came across his profile on a dating app and jokingly mentioned it to his dad. After that, I started having little moments/conversations with friends and family where his name kept coming up—and it sparked something in me. Looking back, I truly believe God was placing him in front of me again and again just to get my attention… and he definitely did. Around that time, I had just started attending Crosspoint City Church. It was only my second time going by myself, and this was after all those conversations about Alec had already happened. I was standing in line for a latte when I looked over—and there he was. In that moment, it felt like God couldn’t have made it any clearer that I needed to talk to him. Soon after, I found out that the next time he would be at my job would be during a Bible study I was coordinating. Even though it was actually my day off, I showed up with every intention of talking to him. But when the moment came, I chickened out and let him leave. As soon as he did, I had this overwhelming feeling that I needed to reach out. Social media was my friend, through Facebook I messaged him—and the very next day after church, we went on our first date. The rest is history :) I didn’t know guys like Alec existed. What God gave me in him is more than I could have ever asked for or imagined. I feel so incredibly blessed to spend forever with my person—someone who sees me in the same way God does. He has shown me the epitome of God’s love and constantly encourages me to grow closer to him in my faith. I am so honored to marry someone so selfless, loving, kind, and caring. Alec is truly an answered prayer and a blessing—not only to me, but to everyone he meets.
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” — (Matthew 6:33) This verse has become my testimony. There was a time in my life when I wasn’t living the way I should. But God came knocking, and I finally surrendered everything to Him. From that moment on, I chose to live for Jesus—the One who saved me from so much. In that surrender, I found a deep sense of peace and contentment. Then one day, I received a message on Facebook from Lauren. I had known her for over five years from the golf course where she worked. She had always been one of the kindest and most joyful people there, and we always got along—but I never thought of her as anything more than that. She told me she had seen me at church and asked if I wanted to get lunch. I was nervous, but I said yes. From that very first date, I realized there was something different. As we talked, I learned that our journeys of faith had grown and deepened around the same time. Her love for God was genuine and powerful, and it drew me in. She shows compassion, kindness, and grace to everyone she meets. Then she took me to an Elevation Worship concert. Worshiping alongside her and seeing her heart fully devoted to God—it changed something in me. In that moment, I knew she was someone I never wanted to lose. It’s amazing how God brought us together at just the right time. Without Him working in both of our lives, our paths may have never crossed in this way. I’m eternally grateful for the woman He placed in my life. Words can’t fully express how much I love her. I can’t wait to marry the woman who feels like she was truly made for me.
