Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Lauren Rokjer and Aaron Foreman
Troy’s downtown area is known for its stunning 19th-century architecture and revitalized shops and restaurants. Spend some time walking around the city’s historic district and discover art galleries, local boutiques, and charming coffee shops. Here are some suggestions of things we love to do locally:

Troy Waterfront Farmers Market

Monument Square, Troy, NY 12180

Open Saturday from 9am-2pm. Located around the corner on River Street. Lots of local food and vendors. Definitely worth a visit!

Brown's Brewing Company's Troy Taproom and Brewery

417 River Street, Troy, NY 12180

A beloved local brewpub with a fantastic selection of craft beers brewed on-site, Brown's Brewing Co. offers hearty American food with a focus on local ingredients. Located on the Hudson River, it has a great atmosphere with views of the water, perfect for casual dining or an evening out.

The Ruck

104 3rd Street, Troy, NY 12180

This laid-back bar and restaurant is a Troy institution, known for its extensive craft beer selection and casual American fare. With a friendly atmosphere and an open patio for warmer weather, it’s an excellent spot to hang out, enjoy delicious food, and sip on local brews.

The Whistling Kettle

24 Front Street, Ballston Spa, NY 12020

For something a bit lighter or a relaxing brunch, The Whistling Kettle offers an extensive selection of teas along with a menu of sandwiches, soups, and salads. Its cozy, homey feel makes it the perfect place for a casual meal.

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que

377 River Street, Troy, NY 12180

For guests who enjoy BBQ, Dinosaur Bar-B-Que is a must-visit. It’s an iconic stop in Troy, serving up delicious smoked meats, ribs, and comfort food with a Southern twist. The vibrant atmosphere and friendly service make it a great spot for a casual yet satisfying meal.

Fidens Brewing Company

897 Broadway, Albany, NY 12207

Thacher State Park

830 Thacher Park Road, Voorheesville, NY 12186

A great place to see the fall foliage! About 35 minutes away.

Saratoga Springs

Saratoga Springs, NY

If you have some extra time, Saratoga Springs is only about a 30-minute drive from Troy. Broadway has an abundance of restaurants and shops, or you can take a walk through the state park or congress park. For dining we recommend Olde Bryan Inn, Druthers, Sweet Mimi's (breakfast), and Uncommon Grounds.
