The zoo is one of our favorite places to visit, and we love the Memphis zoo just as much as the San Diego zoo (where Sage proposed to Lauren!). Favorite exhibits include the red pandas, big cat country, and animals of the night. We highly recommend taking some time to check it out.
A March wedding means flowers beginning to bloom and there is no better place to experience that than the Botanic Garden. The gardens convinced us to move out to TN when we first visited and we have loved going back again and again. With fun exhibits and thoughtfully curated gardens, the Botanic is a plant-lover's dream.
Shelby Farms is one of our favorite ways to experience the beauty of this area. Rentals are offered for kayaking, horse-back riding, or biking. Or bring a lunch and choose one of the many hiking/walking trails and check out the lakes and bison.
March is the beginning of riverboat season in Memphis! Take a 90-minute tour down the Mississippi River, take a Sunday morning blues cruise, or join them for a dinner and live jazz cruise. Bonus points if you're able to spot our venue from your cruise!
Beale Street is the "Home of the Blues" and is a significant cultural and historical site in Memphis. We recommend checking out some of the bars and live music on the street. B.B. King's has INCREDIBLE ribs and Blues City Cafe has great BBQ options as well. If you pop into Silky O'Sullivan's, you can see a flag that Sage signed during a hike for the Irreverant Warriors Foundation (raising awareness for Veteran mental health and suicide).
Another iconic Memphis spot- Elvis Presley's home and gardens. Round out the tour by visiting Sun Studios after and getting dinner at Rock'n Dough Pizza & Brewery.
