Like true millennials, we both swiped right & the rest is history. Kirk and I had both moved to the DC area after I completed my travel nurse career and he completed his sea tour in Washington state. I was ready to settle down after moving around the country every three months, and he was excited to return to Annapolis, the place where he had spent four memorable years at the Naval Academy. We began dating on October 16, 2017 and quickly shared our love of travel, food, and the Midwest amongst many other things! During our first year of dating we were able to visit 13 states and two countries in Europe together. We hope to greatly increase that number in the future! Fast forward one year to October 16, 2018 when Kirk proposed. He is quite the movie nerd and recreated the final scene of You've Got Mail while also recreating our first date night. He asked me to marry him downtown Annapolis with our dog nephew, Chauncey, who was on our first date with us. :) We then went to dinner where there was a private room set up and decorated just for us! This was definitely the best day of my life so far and I love looking back on it! Our lives forever changed on November 16, 2018 when after waiting six months, we finally got a puppy! His name is Hitch and he's a newfiedoodle (half newfoundland and half poodle mix). We chose to name him after the restaurant we had our first date at, our engagement dinner at, and, soon, our rehearsal dinner at- Blackwall Hitch. We can't imagine our lives without him! He may make a guest appearance at the wedding. ;) Although we don't know yet where this med school journey will take us in the fall of 2019, we do know that we are so excited to be getting married in the place we both met and have called home for a few years now! We are so looking forward to celebrating with you all in June! We love you!
