We met in my college dorm room. Gabe was studying with my roommate when I walked out of my room and into the living room. I didn't think much of it, so I just said my polite "hi" and ran off to a class that I had. The next time we saw each other, we actually got to have a conversation and spend some time together. We hit it off so well, and there was a random moment where I adjusted the tie he was wearing and we locked eyes. It sounds cheesy, but that was the first time that we thought, "Maybe there's something here."
It's no secret that between the two of us, Gabe is the better secret keeper, and the day he proposed was no different. That day, he went with me to school to help set up my classroom, we got ready for some plans with friends (that we never ended up making), and the whole time, I had no idea that he was planning on proposing to me that night. That evening, we got ready for, what I thought, was going to be a housewarming party. Just as we were about to leave, Gabe said that he was going to go let out our pup, Henry, before we left. A few minutes later, the doorbell rang. I opened the door to find Henry there, but not Gabe. There was a note on Henry's collar that said to go outside. When I went outside, I was greeted by a driver that Gabe had hired to bring me to spots around San Antonio that had a special meaning to our relationship. At each stop, Gabe surprised me with friends and family that had come in from out of town to deliver me the next hint on where to go. During the car rides, Gabe arranged for me to watch videos that recounted our relationship. Needless to say that by the time I got to the last stop, the dorms that we had met at so many years ago, all of my makeup was already cried off, and I knew that this is where he had to be. As soon as I got out of the car, I heard music playing, and I knew exactly where to go. When I turned the corner, I saw Gabe standing there in a suit with my friends and family lining the pathway. In front of our friends and family, Gabe got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Of course, I said YES, and the rest is history.
