What are the COVID-19 guidelines?

Answer

We will be following all COVID-19 regulations required in New Jersey in place at the time of our wedding. We will continue to update this space as we get closer to the event. So that we can all enjoy a stress free celebration, please be either fully vaccinated or have a negative COVID-19 test within 3 days of our wedding. As of July 30th, we have confirmed that over 90% of our attending guests are fully vaccinated. Kindly inform us, if you have not already, and we will update this space. Our ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors where there is currently no mask mandate for vaccinated individuals. Our reception will be indoors and the Hyatt currently requires unvaccinated guests to wear a mask.

What is the current level of transmission for Hudson County?

Answer

Jersey City is located in Hudson County. The CDC currently states Hudson County is Substantial on the level of community transmission scale. At this level, the CDC recommends mask wearing but it is not required.

What is the attire for for the Wedding Reception?

Answer

Cocktail Attire - Men should wear suits or jackets and slacks and women should wear cocktail dresses, little black dresses, or dressy jumpsuits. This is not a black tie affair, so no need for tuxedos or long gowns.

What is the attire for the Welcome Drinks?

Answer

Festive Attire - Justin will be in jeans, a button down, and a jacket and Laurel will be in a dress. Drinks are at a brewery so save your fancy outfits for the wedding!

Where is the Ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will be outside of the Hyatt Regency, facing the water and New York City (weather permitting). In the event of rain, the ceremony will be on the 9th floor of the hotel and you'll receive a communication during the day.

Can I bring my children?

Answer

We're looking forward to seeing everyone for the weekend, including your kids if you choose to bring them, but the wedding will be adults only.

Where should I park my car?

Answer

The Hyatt Regency offers valet parking at the following rates: $35 for the day of the event or $38 overnight on Friday and/or Saturday. There is also a One Parking garage at 10 Exchange Place, Jersey City, NJ which will have rates closer to $25 a night. The garage is directly across from the hotel. We also recommend downloading the app Spot Hero which can sometimes provide discounted parking at the One Parking garage or other nearby locations.

Do I need to have a car for the weekend?

Answer

Once arriving in Jersey City, all of our events are either easily walkable, a short Lyft/Uber ride, or at the Hyatt Regency itself, so there is no need to have a car once you arrive. If you are flying in, we’d recommend taking a Lyft/Uber from the airport rather than renting a car.

How should I spend my free time?

Answer

Our Things to Do page has some of our favorite locations in Jersey City. You can also take advantage of the Exchange Place Path Station or NY Waterway Ferry at the Harborside Ferry Terminal for a quick ride into New York City where your options are endless. Just be sure to be back in time for the start of our Ceremony at 4:30 PM.
