Portland is a food mecca. Here are some of our favorites: Honey Paw ($$) -- Asian-fusion, incredible noodle dishes and much more Eventide Oyster ($$$) -- incredible oysters, award winning lobster roll. They don't take reservations but it's worth the wait. Duckfat ($$) -- this place is sandwiches and fries on steroids. Bring your appetite. Bard Coffee ($) -- hip coffee joint right in the Old Port. Tandem Bakery and Coffee ($) -- go the Congress Street location and treat yourself to a pastry. You won't regret it!
Wells Reserve at Laudholm Farm -- A beautiful nature reserve with walking paths and great views. Suitable for kids. Peaks Island -- a short ferry ride from downtown Portland. Rent bikes on the island and stop at the Cockeyed Gull for a bite! Portland Old Port -- lots of shops, restaurants, and port city New England charm. Higgins Beach, Scarborough, Maine -- metered parking along the beach or public lot at 41 Ocean Ave, $10/day. Pine Point Beach -- public access and parking at the end of Avenue 5. Parking is $10/day.
