Hector and I met in February 2017 through my childhood best friend, Andrea. Andrea and I had recently reconnected and during that time Hector and Andrea worked together in the same department. I was working diligently to finish my Masters program and was not really looking for anyone, as my primary focus was school. Hector, on the other hand, was living his best life and focusing on his own career growth. One day Andrea spontaneously tells me that I have to meet her coworker as she saw we were the right fit for each other. Though it was awkward at first, Hector and I met through a text message without knowing our physical appearance or anything for that matter! After a week of messaging, Hector and I agreed to meet in person. During our date at Sol Cantina in Newport we felt a unique interaction for one another as we talked for 6 hours straight at the restaurant! We both knew we were compatible for each other as we shared the same interests for sports, music, movies and even food. We dated for about a year and a half and during that time Hector confessed to me that he once told himself that one day he was going marry me as he knew I was the one from the very beginning. I knew that I had always looked for a partner like Hector. He had always prayed for the right person to walk into his life and God answered his prayers! :) - Laura

Héctor y yo nos conocimos en febrero del 2017 a través de mi mejor amiga de la infancia, Andrea. Andrea y yo nos habíamos reconectado recientemente y durante ese tiempo Héctor y Andrea trabajaron juntos en el mismo departamento. Yo estaba trabajando muy duro para terminar mi programa de Maestría y realmente no estaba buscando a nadie, ya que mi enfoque principal era la escuela. Héctor, por otro lado, estaba viviendo su mejor vida y enfocándose en el crecimiento de su propia carrera. Un día, Andrea espontáneamente me dice que tengo que conocer a su compañero de trabajo, ya que vio que éramos el uno para el otro. Aunque al principio fue incómodo, Héctor y yo nos conocimos a través de un mensaje de texto sin conocer nuestra apariencia física o mejor dicho no sabiamos nada de nosotros mismos! Después de una semana de mensajes, Héctor y yo acordamos en conocernos en persona. Durante nuestra cita en Sol Cantina en Newport, sentimos una interacción única el uno con el otro mientras hablábamos durante 6 horas seguidas en el restaurante! Ambos sabíamos que éramos compatibles el uno con el otro, ya que compartíamos los mismos intereses por los deportes, la música, las películas e incluso la comida. Salimos durante aproximadamente un año y medio y durante ese tiempo Héctor me confesó que una vez se dijo a sí mismo que un día se casaría conmigo porque sabía que yo era la mujer ideal para el desde el principio. Yo sabía que siempre había buscado una pareja como Héctor. Él siempre había orado por la persona adecuada para entrar en su vida y Dios respondió sus oraciones! :) - Laura

Laura had just planned a trip to Paris and Rome for us to go with her brothers to serve as guides for the trip as her brothers were going for the first time. A week before the trip, my mother tells me that I should propose to Laura in Europe as that would be memorable and special experience. I, on the other hand, didn't consider it since I wanted to pop the question with all of our loved ones present. Something more simple, more intimate. However, the day before our departure, both of my sisters (Lupe and Fatima) went with me to get her ring! When we landed in Paris, I clearly remember it was snowing! We were suppose to go up the Eiffel Tower that day but we were unable to buy tickets to ride up the elevator. The next day I was awakened by clear skies and I took it as a sign from God that the moment I got down on one knee was meant to happen today. It was like we had a window of good weather and the sun was the spotlight shining down on us! While we waited in line to ride up the elevator to the very top of the Eiffel Tower, I was very tempted to tell her brothers my plan to propose but I refrained from saying anything more so to be a surprise to everyone. We were part of the first group to go up and I had finally found a good spot to propose with good lighting but Laura beat me to the punch as she asked for me to take a picture of her and her brothers. As we continued to walk around and we arrived at the bar when Laura says, "We should toast to this moment!" I quickly jumped to the idea and said, "We should DEFINITELY toast to this moment!" I was referring to the proposal and she was referring to the moment of us being there. As the champagne was being served, I pulled Laura to the side and asked her brother to record what would happen next. I told her how I felt and, though I was not nervous from the very beginning, I got down on one knee and I struggled to take out the ring box! But finally the ring came out and in the end, she said YES!! Praise God!! - Hector

Laura acababa de planear un viaje a París y Roma para que nosotros fuéramos con sus hermanos a servir de guías para el viaje, ya que sus hermanos iban por primera vez. Una semana antes del viaje, mi madre me dice que debería proponerle matrimonio a Laura en Europa, ya que sería una experiencia memorable y especial. Yo, por otro lado, no lo consideré ya que quería propornerle matrimonio con todos nuestros seres queridos presentes. Algo más simple, más íntimo. Sin embargo, el día antes de nuestra partida, mis dos hermanas (Lupe y Fátima) me acompañaron a buscar su anillo. Cuando aterrizamos en París, recuerdo claramente que estaba nevando. Se suponía que íbamos a subir la Torre Eiffel ese día, pero no pudimos comprar boletos para subir al ascensor. Al día siguiente me despertaron los cielos despejados y lo tomé como una señal de Dios de que el momento en que me arrodillé estaba destinado a suceder hoy. Mientras esperábamos en la fila para subir al elevador hasta la cima de la Torre Eiffel, tuve la tentación de decirles a sus hermanos mi plan para proponer matrimonio, pero me abstuve de decir algo para que fuera una sorpresa para todos. Fuimos parte del primer grupo en subir y finalmente encontré un buen lugar para proponer con buena iluminación, pero Laura me gano cuando me pidió que le tomara una foto a ella y a sus hermanos. Mientras seguimos caminando llegamos al bar cuando Laura dice: "¡Debemos brindar por este momento!" Rápidamente salté a la idea y dije: "¡Definitivamente debemos brindar por este momento!" Me refería a la propuesta y ella se refería al momento en que nosotros estuvimos allí. Mientras se servía el champán, tome a Laura de la mano y le pedí a su hermano que registrara lo que sucedería después. Le conté cómo me sentía y, aunque no estaba nervioso desde el principio, ¡me arrodillé y luché por sacar la caja del anillo! ¡Pero finalmente salió el anillo y al final, ella dijo SÍ! ¡¡Alabado sea el Señor!! - Héctor
