It was the neighborhood’s architecture—warehouses without windows—that presented a literal blank canvas for the neighborhood’s artists. Wynwood Walls is an outdoor museum dedicated to street art. Here, the works of more than 40 internationally renowned street artists are on display, ranging from pioneers like Shepard Fairey (most famous for his Obama Hope posters), Kenny Scharf and RETNA to white-hot emerging stars like Maya Hayuk and the British art collective London Police. Outside of Wynwood Walls, you’ll find murals by Miami’s local street artists, including Magnus Sodamin, Jessy Nite, Typoe and the MSG Crew, alongside international artists. We recommend taking a look by yourself, but if you’d like to schedule a tour please go to http://www.thewynwoodwalls.com/officialtours
This intimate bar has WINE AND CHEESE AND JAZZ! If there were cats here, it would literally be my heaven on earth. Lagniappe House has a distinct New Orleans vibe. Pick a bottle of Lagniappe’s specialty small-batch vinos, order a cheese plate and head to the balmy backyard. Decorated with quirky, mismatched thrift-store furniture and lit by string lights draped from trees, it’s an ideal setting for live music sessions. Get here early to reserve a spot for the nightly jazz show.
