As many of you know, Nickolas was introduced to the Carter family not by Lauralee as her new boyfriend, but by her brother, Zack, as his new best friend. Though it took several months for each of us to see the other as 'boyfriend' and 'girlfriend' rather than 'brother's best friend' and 'best friend's little sister,' here we are after 3 years thrilled to call each other 'husband' and 'wife.'

To say the least, Lauralee is a very difficult person to surprise. Making the proposal a surprise became even more difficult when Nickolas told Lauralee that he had a ring. She expected him to get down on one knee at any given moment from that day forward... until August 23rd at the Dan + Shay concert in Tampa. The thought had crossed her mind, but didn't think he would propose at a concert. She was wrong. And completely surprised.
