We met at the U.S.⚓ Navy reserve center in Los Angeles where we were both working as weekend warriors. Laura caught Kyle’s eye and he followed her around a bit, introduced himself and made his move to ask her out. She agreed and they went to lunch in their uniforms at a taco place nearby. The taco place Kyle chose had an armed guard; Laura was thinking "these must be some good tacos!" They enjoyed their time together 👫 and dated for the next year, cooking dinner for each other, listening to music and watching movies. Laura said "aloha" to Kyle and moved to Hawaii to finish college...she told Kyle, "it's not goodbye" it's "I’ll see you later". They reconnected when Laura moved to San Diego in 2016 & have been inseparable ♥️ since.

Laura had been scoping Havasupi Falls for quite a while & reservations typically fill up within the first 10 minutes. Kyle scored reservations for Laura's birthday! 🤩🤗 Laura's twin & Dad were excited to share the experience & we planned a fun trip. The trek down was a little more challenging than they anticipated and they crawled into camp exhausted & drifted to sleep. We woke to a downpour and did our best with our hammocks & tent. We made the decision to make the best of it & leave the next day. Laura's Dad, Barry, brought out a 2 pack of hostess cupcakes from his tent with a candle on each (fitting for twins) and we celebrated Laura & Ryan's birthdays. Kyle wrote Laura a sweet card "home is wherever I'm with you" & when she turned to give him a kiss💋 he was down on one knee with loving words and a dazzling 💍. Laura said "YESSS!!" 🥰 & they all celebrated with shots of Fireball. ♥️
