My best friend, Caitlin, introduced us and at the time, I lived in St. Petersburg and Wyatt lived in Sanford. I didn't think much of it since we were on opposite sides of Florida. Every time Caitlin and Wyatt would hang out, Wyatt was texting me from her phone. We would go back and forth with jokes from The Office show. Then, he managed to get my number and we were texting and talking non stop. He asked if he could come see me and take me out on a date in St. Petersburg, I agreed and the rest is history!

Our first date was an entire day spent exploring St. Peterburg. He came to pick me up in the morning and the first place we went to was the Mazzaro Italian Market. We walked through the market and bought some wine. Then, we headed to downtown St. Pete, walked through the art market and enjoyed the rooftop views from The Canopy at The Birchwood! We had lunch and mimosas on Central Avenue and then went over to Madeira Beach to watch the sunset. There were a bunch of hammocks there and just as we went to sit in one of them, the hammock flipped and we both fell off and into the sand! We laughed so much! . After sunset, we went back to my apartment where I cooked Giada's recipe for Pasta Carbonara and we ended the day watching our favorite show, The Office.

In December 2017, my dad and I traveled to Michigan to stay with my aunt and uncle and spend Christmas with the family. I remember Wyatt took us to the airport and I was so sad because I was really going to miss him. He said he couldn't come with us because of his work schedule. The day after we arrived, it was time to get ready for the big family Christmas party we do every year. I was busy chopping vegetables with my Aunt JoJean and running to the grocery store with my dad and Uncle TJ. Little did I know, I was making preparations for my own engagement party! Later on when all of our family arrived, my Aunt JoJean suggested that everyone go for a walk to look at the Christmas lights. I was holding the dog's leash so I was at the front of the large group. All of a sudden, my phone rings and it's Wyatt! I answered and told him I missed him and I was really cold. Then he tells me to look up and there he was! I screamed and ran to him. He gave me a hug and before I knew it, he was down on one knee asking me to marry him! I said yes and the entire family cheered! Then I called my mom and all of sudden I see her and Wyatt's dad, Paul walking over from across the street! It was a very overwhelming and wonderful surprise!!
