Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Laura Puntil and Tanner Kutek
Pittsburgh was recently named one of America’s most underrated cities to visit in 2026 by National Geographic (and Dan Puntil). While the downtown area itself is relatively contained, Pittsburgh is famous for its distinct and vibrant neighborhoods that surround the downtown core and spread throughout the city. These "smaller neighbors" are a huge part of Pittsburgh's identity and culture. Each one often has its own unique character, history, main street, and feel. Here are some of our favorite spots/neighborhoods to visit in the city!

Downtown Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh, PA 15222

For those traveling and want to explore places nearby the hotel, here are a few spots you'll want to check out within walking distance. Laura & Tanner's Standouts include: Market Square (home to restaurants and entertainment, check out PPG Plaza's Ice Rink + Christmas Tree), Sienna Mercato, Barcelona Wine Bar, Sally Ann's (Breakfast), täkō, The Speckled Egg (Breakfast), The Warren Bar & Burrow, Bakersfield, Nicky's Thai Kitchen, De Fer (Coffee).

The Strip District

Pittsburgh, PA 15222

The one-half square mile shopping district is full of shopping, international grocers, produce stands, meat and fish markets and sidewalk vendors. Laura & Tanner's Standouts include: La Prima (Coffee), Papa J's, Hot Haute Hot (Shopping), Primanti Brothers (Famous Pgh Sandwich), Novo Asian Food Hall, Coop De Ville, Pamela's (Breakfast), Penn Avenue Fish Company, Wiggle Whiskey.

Lawrenceville

Pittsburgh, PA 15201

Another hopping neighborhood in Pittsburgh. Full of shopping, eating and drinking! Laura & Tanner's Standouts include: Bar Bontanico (where Tanner and Laura had their first date), Round Corner Cantina, Pusadee's Garden (if you can get in), Wildcard (one of Laura's fav shops in the city), The Parlor Dim Sum, Lola's Eatery (Breakfast), The Roberto Clemente Museum, Condado Tacos, No. 14 (boutique), Cork Harbour Pub.

Mount Washington

Pittsburgh, PA 15211

Tanner's old stomping grounds!! Mount Washington is known for its panoramic city views and the infamous Monongahela and Duquesne Inclines (funiculars that climb the hill). We recommend riding the incline, taking some photos at the Grandview Overlook, and getting a bite to eat. Laura & Tanner's Standouts include: Restaurant Row (upscale seafood and Italian restaurants like LeMont, Altuis (Laura's personal fav), Monterey Bay), Coughlin's Law Kitchen and Ale House, Steel Mill Saloon, Gordo's Tacos.

The Andy Warhol Museum

117 Sandusky Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15212

For our art buffs, we recommend checking out the Andy Warhol Museum (within walking distance from the hotel). The museum holds an extensive permanent collection of art and archives from the Pittsburgh-born pop art icon Andy Warhol. It is the largest museum in North America dedicated to a single artist.
