After being introduced through a mutual friend, they decided we needed to meet in person to see if the interest was truly there. This was a challenge. Stephen is in the military and lived in Texas while Laura lived in Arizona; about 435 miles apart. They were determined to figure it out! Eventually their calendars synced up and the face-to-face meeting was set! The first date was planned: dinner and a basketball game. They both anxiously awaited their first date; talking on the phone daily and numerous text messages throughout the day helped pass the time. The date arrives. They head to dinner. Conversation is abundant. They have many things in common and greatly appreciate each other’s wit, passion for life, and the love they both have for their families. After the dinner, dishes have been cleared and the bill has been paid, they notice the time---the basketball game began over an hour ago! Stephen and Laura make it to the game, have a blast, and decide to hit up another activity to keep the date going….BOWLING! Laura knew it was true love when Stephen let her win! The rest is history. ...To this day Stephen still reminds Laura that she owes him a basketball game.
