Enjoy an ice cream and wonder through this beautiful English garden. Inspired by the image of a sprig of thyme suspended in shimmering jelly, Beverly McClare acquired a handyman special and an acre of land in Grand Pré Nova Scotia. That was thirty years ago. Marrying her artist’s eye, foodie’s palate and a farmer’s capacity for hard work, she created Tangled Garden.

Acadia University researchers are using the Gardens to promote the conservation and recovery of endangered plant species. The plantings at the Gardens are all native species of our region. This green space attracts butterflies and birds to the area and provides habitat for a wide variety of wildlife species.

Grab a drink and have a bite to eat. The Church was purchased by the Church Brewing Company in September 2017. The owners and co-founders began working with local project managers, designers, architects, and contractors, with great support from the Town of Wolfville. The restoration project included re-designing the church into a year-round restaurant and retail store, and the new construction of the attached microbrewery. The brewery, now completed, includes a 4-vessel 35 hectolitre brewing system and a separate 2-vessel 5 hectolitre pilot system. The restaurant opened its doors on January 30th, 2019 and initiated the first brew on July 4th, 2019.
Located in the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this is Grand-Pré National Historic Site—once the epicentre of Acadian culture and now the most significant memorial to their tragic upheaval.

is located on Main Street in Wolfville. The recently launched shop features ciders made from 100% Annaplolis Valley apples which arrive freshly juiced and ferment in tanks on site. Be sure to sip through their two signature bottles: Juicy & Sweet (dry fermented cider muddled with freshly-pressed apple juice at 5.6% alc/vol) and Crisp & Dry (hyslop crab apple combined with a touch of freshly-pressed apple juice at 7.7% alc/vol).
is a micro brewery in Port Williams managed by Brewmaster Randy Lawrence. The petite brewery is attached to Port Pub and offers one of the Annapolis Valley’s prettiest patios. I ordered a flight of craft beer and sipped each to find my fave while a warm breeze wafted over the river. Highlights include Blue Heron Extra Special, Rojo Mojo Red Ale (featured in East Coast Living as the best red beer in the Maritimes) and Blooberry Pail Ale featuring the juice of locally grown blueberries.
