Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We have recommended 4 different hotels on the "Travel" page. You are welcome to stay somewhere else, but we highly encourage you to choose a spot within the Historic City Center, also known as the 'Old City', so that you are close to all of the wedding activities. You'll be able to walk just about anywhere, and you'll love the charming architecture and flower-draped balconies as you stroll through the historic center.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Dress to impress! Our dress code is Summer Formal - floor-length dresses and light-fabric suits or light weight summer tuxedos.

Question

What time should I arrive to the Ceremony?

Answer

All guests should arrive no later than 4:50pm. Please note the ceremony will start promptly at 5:00pm

Question

How do I get to the Ceremony & Venue?

Answer

For the Ceremony, if your hotel is less than a 5 minute walk we recommend walking to avoid unnecessary traffic. However, if the walk is over 10 minutes consider taking an Uber as the weather in Cartagena is hot and humid. The reception, Casa 1537, is about a 5 minute walk from the church. After the ceremony we will be greeted by drummers and dancers who will escort us to the reception venue. Distance to Inglesia de Santo Toribio from recommended hotels: *Sofitel Legend Santa Clara: ~3min walk * Casa San Agustin: ~4min walk *Cinco Quintas Hotel Boutique by SoHo: ~4min walk *Charleston Santa Teresa: ~10min walk

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our wedding ceremony is indoors (in a church with AC), and our reception will be a mix of outdoors (cocktail hour) and indoors (dinner and dancing), with easy access to still enjoy the garden all throughout the reception.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Although we love your little ones, this will be an adult-only celebration. You're more than welcome to travel with your children but please make sure you have arrangements for childcare during the wedding events ahead of time. If you need any assistance booking a reliable babysitting service in Cartagena, please reach out.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

While we are thrilled you want to share our special day with another person and we would love to give everyone a plus one, unfortunately at this time due to restrictions at our venue we can only accommodate those who are formally invited. Please refer to your invite for the number of allotted guests. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to reach out to us to ask!

Question

When should I RSVP?

Answer

We hope and would love to have you all join us during our wedding festivities, but we understand the logistics and complexity of traveling to a destination wedding, so if you already know for certain that you won't be able to travel and attend please let us know as soon as possible. With that in mind, please RSVP as soon as you are able. Everyone’s responses should be in no later than June 1st, 2025.
