Let’s start off with how Rick and I first met. It was the summer of 1992, Rick and his family moved two houses down. I started hanging out with his sister and his upstairs neighbors. I’m not exactly sure how it all started, but eventually Rick and I started “dating”. I guess when you’re 12 and 14 it really wasn’t dating since we didn’t really go anywhere. Anyway, Rick was the first boy I had ever kissed. I must’ve got scared after that and decided to “break up” with him. Our “relationship” lasted about three days...yes three days. We still had an amazing summer that year. I will never forget the summer of ‘92. The summer I kissed the boy next door. Here we are 27 years later...engaged and about to be married in a few months. If you are wondering how we reconnected, I’m about to fill you in. About four years ago my mom, my sister, my brother and I were in my mom’s kitchen talking about the old neighborhood. My sister brought up Rick’s family. She said “Do you remember the Negrete’s that used to live a couple of doors down?”. Well, a light bulb went on in my head and I immediately thought of Rick. So I decided to do a little investigating and see if I could find him. I found his brother Rudy, and bam I found him! I was so excited. I had been searching for him for a while and I finally found him. I reached out to him by sending an instant message through Facebook. A month and a half later I get a message from him. We talked on the phone for hours everyday. I finally asked him if he wanted to go out. He agreed and that’s how it all started. We have been together ever since and had a beautiful baby boy together as well. Rick is the most amazing, loving, respectful, hardworking, caring and selfless man I have ever met. He truly is my everything.
