We're Married!

We eloped to the Canary Islands in March, 2018!!! The Canary Islands are a small chain of Spanish islands off the coast of Morocco. We had a private ceremony with our immediate family on the beautiful grounds of our rental villa. We then flew to Portugal to celebrate our honeymoon as newlyweds. We will be celebrating our marriage with a reception party at the Grey Eagle in Asheville, NC. We are so excited to get to celebrate with all of you, our closest friends and family. Reagin and Laura were set up by Laura's neighbor, Bevin, who worked with Reagin at Mission Hospital. Bevin thought Reagin and Laura would be a great match, and encouraged them to connect. They met at the Bywater, a local bar in Asheville, on a blind date. Although neither of them had ever been on a blind date in the past, it went as well as anyone could have hoped. They decided to get together again and go for a hike at Max Patch with Laura's dog, Luca. In an attempt to impress Laura, Reagin wanted to prepare a nice picnic. He quickly realized that making a gluten-free, dairy-free picnic was a pretty tall order. After winning her over with his culinary prowess, and presenting a bone for her dog, Laura was immediately enamored. Over the next few years, they continued to spend time together traveling and growing as a couple. After spending a summer living together in Seattle, they knew that they had something special. Several months after their return to Asheville, Reagin planned a weekend getaway to Hot Springs, NC. Once again, Reagin took Laura to Max Patch for a hike. He surprised her with the same exact picnic that he had prepared on their first real date at Max Patch 3 years earlier. Reagin pretended they were going to fly a kite and lured Laura off to a grassy knoll. Laura suddenly realized his true intentions and began to jump up and down in excitement as Reagin proposed!
