Things To Do / Qué Hacer

Palma

Palma, IB, Spain

Palma is the capital of Mallorca, and offers plenty to do: - Visit the Palma Cathedral, a Gothic landmark by the seafront and Castell de Bellver, a unique circular castle with panoramic views - Stroll along Passeig des Born and Carrer de Sant Miquel, famous for their upscale shops and charming atmosphere - Enjoy breakfast at Can Joan de s’Aigo, a historic spot famous for its ensaïmadas and hot chocolate since 1700 (one of our favorites!) - Some of our favorite spots for lunch are La Bodeguilla and Bar España for tapas, Mercat de l’Olivar for a busy market setting, or Tast and El Camino for small plates - For dinner, there are plenty of upscale dining and Michelin star restaurants like DINS by Santi Taura for Mallorcan dishes, Adrián Quetglas for tasting menus, or Andana, located inside of a train station Travel: Most attractions are within walking distance in Palma. For Castell de Bellver, consider a quick taxi ride (~10 minutes) or bus #46 from the city center.

Valldemossa

Valldemossa, Nord, IB, Spain

Set in the Tramuntana Mountains, visit the hilltop village of Valldemossa (Laura's favorite!). Must do's: - Pastisseria Ca'n Molinas: Sit on the patio and enjoy a cortado and coca de patata - Visit Jardins Rei Joan Carles - Wear your hiking shoes, and enjoy one of the 20+ trails near Valldemossa - Continue on to the beautiful towns of Deià and Sóller. Deià is about a 20 minute drive from Valldemossa. For jaw-dropping views, head to Mirador de Sa Foradada restaurant at Son Marroig, on the coast road between Deià and Valldemossa. After visiting Deià, continue another 20 minutes to Sóller and Port de Sóller! Travel: The most convenient way to get to Valldemossa is by rental car (~30 minutes). Alternatively you can take bus #203 from Palma to Valldemossa.

Mirador de Es Colomer

Pollença, IB 07460, Spain

Over 300 meters above sea level, Mirador de es Colomer is one of the best viewpoints on the island. Stop to see Cap de Formentor, a beautiful lighthouse at the northernmost point of the island. The views are breathtaking all the way up. Bring your swimsuits, and stop at one of the many beaches nearby (Playa Formentor, Cala Figuera). Traveling by car will be the most convenient way to get here. Parking is limited. An alternative is to drive to the nearby town, Pollença. From there, you can take one of the local buses.

Let's go to the beach!

Mallorca, Spain

- Playa Es Trenc (45 minutes from Palma) - Playa d'Illetes (20 minutes from Palma) - Cala Major (15 minutes from Palma) - Playa de Muro (45 minutes from Palma) The island is full of beautiful beaches. Wherever you choose to explore, be sure to stop at some of the local spots!
