When a travel nurse position became available at Martha’s Vineyard Hospital in the fall of 2018, Laura thought to herself, “Why not?!” Upon arrival, Laura was immediately enraptured by the beautiful island and its welcoming people. Nic and Laura first met one Sunday at his parents’ house. Nic’s mother Joyce, who is also the unit manager for maternity, was hosting work friends. Smiles and rival football banter were exchanged. Hints of flirtation were suggested by all. Laura would not entertain any of the plotting! A few short weeks later, while attempting to make herself feel at home by hanging Christmas lights, Laura required the assistance of an electrician with a faulty outdoor socket. When she asked her new co-worker, handy-Sandy Ciciora, who could help her on the DL (down-low) as to not involve the landlord, Sandy’s response was a quick and easy one, “Nic Capo!” …It was all over from there or rather it all began!
