Port Townsend-Check out the lighthouse and beach at Fort Warden.
Day Trips from Port Townsend
Whidbey Island- Ferry from downtown PT
Lake Crescent- there's a nice hike up to a waterfall and the beautiful historic Lake Crescent Lodge for a meal
Hurricane Ridge/Olympic Hot Springs- mountain views and hike in natural hot springs
Olympic National Park: highly recommend hiking through the old growth moss forests.
Weekend/Multi-Day Trips
Washington Coast/Lake Ozette triangle- 3 mile hike out to the coast. One of my favorite places.
San Juan Islands- Can catch the ferry from Port Angeles (Seattle side). Car reservations a must!
Seattle recommendations:
Parks- golden gardens- "beach" with sweeping mountain views. Nearby neighborhood of Ballard is charming with lots of restaurants and nightlife. Gasworks park has a nice city view.
Pike Place- a must especially if you are taking the ferry. A hum bow, piroshki and a beer at the Athenian will be a great time.
