Guests are responsible for booking and covering the cost of their flights to and from Italy. We recommend booking flights as early as possible to secure the best rates! Something to note, some airlines require an updated passport to purchase flights. Getting to the Villa – Transportation NOT Included/ But Can Be Provided from the villa for a small extra cost. If you are flying into Florence please try to book a flight that will arrive in the morning rather than the evening so you don't miss the Welcome Dinner. Each guest will fill out an arrival form so that we can help arrange transportation from Florence to Cortona. Those arriving later in the day will be responsible for arranging their own transportation from Florence Peretola Airport (FLR) to the city of Cortona. Guests will be picked up from the City center of Cortona at 4:30pm. If you are to arrive later than that you will need to go straight to the villa and the address will be provided.

Make Sure Your Passport is Up to Date!

Since you need a passport to travel to Italy, be sure to check your passport status ASAP. Passport renewal costs approximately $130 and processing times can take 4-6 weeks, so apply early to avoid delays. If you need an expedited service, it can be done in 2 to 3 weeks with an additional fee. *Please ensure that your passport does not expire until 6 months after your departure date back to the U.S. You will not be permitted to travel with a passport that expires less than 6 months after your return date to the U.S. If you have to renew, there is still enough time to expedite a renewal passport in time for your travel. This is very important. Nearest Airport: Florence Peretola Airport FLR. Via del Termine, 11, 50127 Firenze FI, Italy Please note you are welcome to fly into Italy wherever you'd like. Florence will be the most convenient airport to fly into due to proximity and transportation. Some guests will arrive a day or two early and stay in Florence while others might fly into Rome and utilize the train system. For those flying into Florence there will be optional transportation at a discounted rate to take you from where ever you are to the city center of Cortona. Those taking this transportation will have their luggage taken straight to the villa after being dropped off in the City. The cost of the transportation is €350 total. Each bus can hold up to 7 people and the cost can be divided up among the people ridding. There will be a form sent out for everyone to fill out once their travel is booked so we can arrange for these shuttles and keep costs as low as possible for everyone. *This can also be provide for those flying into Rome. Please see the form attached that was sent out in the email.

You may want to get travel insurance for some extra security. There are many companies like Amex, Berkshire-Hathaway and also Costco that has insurance policies available.
