The purpose of this gathering is to honor & celebrate your roles in our lives & the importance of you bearing witness to our commitment to each other. This is a celebration of our appreciation for you all being a part of our lives & looking forward to what will come next for us together.
We will be ready to begin at 4pm. If you arrive early please enjoy the views but wait to enter the pavilion space until 4pm. Please aim to arrive before 4:30pm so you have a chance to settle in. We are tentatively planning to have the pie cutting at 7:30pm. We hope you can stay to join us for that and/or take some home with you. We will have a closing blessing at 8:45pm & would love for as many of you to be part of that as possible. We need to have the space cleared out by 10pm, so cleaning up will begin at 9pm. If you feel inspired to stay to help with clean up, we welcome you.
There is free parking available inside Fort Getty. If it is possible, we respectfully encourage carpooling. After you turn right onto Fort Getty Road, you will pass some lovely estates & horses. The parking lot for the pavilion will be on the left with crushed shells. If you reach the RV park you have gone too far.
We want you to feel celebratory & comfortable. So, wear something you like wearing. If you don’t find joy in wearing a tie, please don't wear a tie. The groom will not be wearing a tie. Neither will the bride. If you love sequins, please wear sequins! The ceremony will be outside on grass if the weather allows. There will be a BBQ buffet & most of the table seating is at picnic tables. Once the sun goes down, it may get a little chilly, but we will have heaters & blankets available.
There will be an assortment of delicious things to eat the entire evening. Drinks & appetizers will be available before the ceremony from 4pm-5pm. Dinner will be a buffet with plenty of meat, vegetarian & vegan options catered by Keane's Wood Fired Catering . If you have dietary restrictions, concerns, or preferences please note them on your RSVP card or email Laura at laurahamilton28@gmail.com. We will be having pies from the Village Hearth Bakery & at least one gluten free option. If you have strong/semi-strong pie opinions or pie topping opinions, please let us know ahead of time!
There will be an open bar with a selection of wines & beers. There will be plenty of seltzer waters as well as other sparkling & still nonalcoholic options. Coffee & tea will be available when we reach Pie Time. Please be advised that last call for alcohol will be 8:30pm per RI law.
Our wonderful friend, Rachel, is our Cruise Director for the evening. Rachel has experience as a professional wedding coordinator for various types of weddings. Rachel & Laura hosted 40-50 large events together during the nearly 10 years while Rachel worked at Wayside. Now, Rachel & Marcus work together every week to get thousands of pounds of food redistributed through the pantry she directs.
Yes. She's basically a celebrity. We are incredibly lucky to have Laura Uttley officiating our wedding ceremony. Laura U is the oldest friend of Laura H's little sister, Lindsay. Laura U officiated Lindsay & Eric's wedding.
We have intentionally chosen to keep our gathering intimate so we can be fully present with each of you & to give you all the best opportunity to interact with each other in meaningful ways .There will be more than 60 people & less than 100 people. In addition to us, there will be ~10 people on the catering team, 2 people on the music team, 1 photographer & 1 park ranger.
Yes! Please do! We made them to share with you. Each arrangement has a label on the bottom. If it says, Take Me Home, take the entire thing with you. If it says Return to LH & MB, you are welcome to take the arrangement, but we would like to keep the vessel.
