Laura initially had to cancel on Kevin (a few times), but we eventually met for drinks at The Point in Fells Point. We talked for hours and hours, of course, with Laura doing most of the talking while Kevin smiled and indulged her. It was an instant connection, and we never looked back. Our third date fell on Kevin's birthday when Laura arrived late but still managed to impress a table full of his closest friends and win them over with cupcakes and her charming personality. From that point on, we became inseparable. We quickly met each other's families and celebrated our first Thanksgiving together just a few months later. Just six months into our relationship, the world turned upside down with the arrival of the pandemic. What we initially thought would be a two-week period to "flatten the curve" turned into Laura fully moving in with Kevin. Although it was a scary time for everyone, it brought many beautiful silver linings for us. A few weeks into the quarantine, we bought a dart board to keep ourselves entertained since we couldn't spend all our time watching Survivor, fighting over jigsaw puzzles (yes, Kevin is competitive even when it comes to puzzles), and baking banana bread and chocolate chip cookies. After 39 seasons of Survivor and playing approximately 35,612 rounds of darts, Laura convinced Kevin to get a puppy, and we soon welcomed our pride and joy, Bubbles! Before our first dating anniversary, we navigated through the challenges of a pandemic, moved in together, celebrated Laura turning 30, witnessed Kevin starting a new job, adopted a puppy, and supported each other when we both lost beloved grandmothers. As the world returned to normal, calling each other co-workers began to dwindle as Kevin began traveling for work again and Laura went back to the office. Kevin also made his triumphant return to the softball field, giving Laura alone time to watch her favorite reality shows. The past few years have also included many adventures together to places like San Diego, Charleston, Boston, Chicago and our absolute favorite place to relax - Hilton Head Island. Fast forward to April 2024, just as Laura was about to celebrate her 10th anniversary of living with multiple sclerosis at Walk MS, Kevin had a surprise up his sleeve (or, rather, in his pocket). Kevin took Laura to one of their favorite restaurants on the eve before her family and friends arrived. We then went to Pitango for our favorite gelato, and with Kevin acting as cool as a cucumber, we took a stroll to one of the piers, where we went on our first date. It was there that Kevin asked Laura to be his wife, presenting her with a stunning engagement ring. We feel incredibly honored and excited to share our love story with you. We can't wait to celebrate with all of you as we embark on our journey as husband and wife. Thank you for being a part of our lives and for joining in our joyous celebration.
